Bob
Adamov
Bob
Adamov is a seasoned executive with
an extensive background in human
resources, public relations,
investor relations, finance and
crisis management with several major
northeast Ohio companies. Prior to
the publishing of his first novel,
Rainbow’s End, Adamov’s writing
focused primarily in the business
environment. Adamov was the featured
author at the 2006 Ernest Hemingway Literary
Festival in Key West.
From his home base in
Wooster, Ohio, located about 60 miles
south of Cleveland, Adamov, a Kent
State University graduate, often
travels out to the Lake Erie islands
in his award-winning, bright yellow
1939 Packard street rod. He is often
seen selling books out of the trunk
as he takes the Miller Ferry across
to South Bass Island.
Adamov also enjoys traveling in
Europe and spending as much time as
possible in Put-in-Bay on Lake
Erie’s South Bass Island, Key West,
the Caymans and throughout the
Caribbean with his scuba diver and
treasure hunter friends.
Recognition: Adamov’s first
book, Rainbow’s End was a finalist
as the top fiction novel for the
2003 Great Lakes Book Award
competition that was won by the
Pulitzer Prize-winner, Middlesex.
His second novel, Pierce the Veil,
the third novel, When Rainbows
Walk, and his fourth novel Promised
Land were named as one of 2004’s, 2005’s
and 2006 best novels in Northeast
Ohio. All three novels were rated “5
Stars” by the Midwest Book Review.
Adamov’s writing style has been
compared to that of popular author
Clive Cussler by Jerry Bruckheimer’s
team who also suggested that
Adamov’s protagonist was a potential
franchise hero like Tom Clancy’s
Jack Ryan.
Promised Land, his fourth novel,
was released in the summer of
2006. He is drafting his fifth
novel, The Other Side of Hell, which
is set in the Caymans and due for a
summer 2007 release. Visit Bob

"Bob
Adamov continues to master the
art of mystery novel writing in
his latest story. In When
Rainbows Walk, the plot thickens
as the depths of its characters'
troubles develop. When Rainbows
Walk is an intricate labyrinth
of mind-pacing assertion as
readers turn from page to page
discovering the next twist and
turn of this exhilarating work
of mystery/suspense fiction. A
highly recommended read for
mystery lovers, When Rainbows
Walk is sure to induce an
endless stream of thought into
the minds of its readers. Also
highly recommended are Bob
Adamov's two previous "Emerson
Moore" titles: Rainbow's End and
Pierce the Veil." Midwest
Book Review - March 10, 2006

...Bob Adamov scored with When
Rainbows Walk, third in his
Emerson Moore mystery series,

Where did you grow up and was reading and
writing a part of your life? Who were your
earliest influences and why?
Bob Adamov:
Norton,
Ohio (outside of Akron). When we were
children, my mother dropped my brother off
at the Akron Art Institute for art classes.
I convinced her to wait at the Akron Public
Library so that I could get lost in a world
of fiction with my favorite authors.A
highlight for me was visiting that same
library and seeing my novels sitting on the
shelves with my
heroes. The fast moving adventures of
the Hardy Boys set my imagine aflame.
PageOneLit.com:
Why do you write?
Bob Adamov:
It's
been a dream since I was 8 years old and my
brother and I started a small neighborhood
newspaper. I did the writing and he did the
cartooning.
(He did the artwork in my first novel!)
Turning 50 didn't bother me, but turning 51
hit me like a ton of bricks. I decide to
pursue several of my lifelong dreams and the
writing took off beyond my expectations.
It's been exciting to hear how many other 50
plus year olds
have been encourage by my success and are
pursuing their dreams.

In your new book,"PROMISED LAND" , New
Orleans is the backdrop and setting -- What
is it about the city that you love so much?
Many great writers, like yourself, find
creative vision there - From your
perspective, what's the magic of New Orleans
and it's strong literary connection?
Bob Adamov:
Mystery
hangs over the city like a veil. It's a
gumbo of fragrant smells, beautiful
architecture and colorful people salted
throughout by its distinctive jazz music and
parades. It's also a city full of police
corruption which cries to be made public.
PageOneLit.com:
In 20 words or less tell us about "PROMISED
LAND."
Bob Adamov:
Filled with Vatican
intrigue,
serial murders, police corruption and the
devastating
effects of Hurricane
Katrina,
it surges to a surprising climax.
PageOneLit.com:
Who is
Enerson Moore? Where did this
character come from? This a great character.
Bob Adamov:
Emerson is an investigative
reporter with The Washington Post. From his
home base in the Lake Erie islands, his
reporting assignments take him to intriguing
destinations and involve numerous twists and
turns. He's based on a number of people whom
I've admired. He's no James Bond. He has his
weaknesses.
PageOneLit.com:
Plot or character - Which is more important
and why?
Bob Adamov:
Both are critical. The cornucopia
of colorful characters add a richness to the
plot. The edge of your seat plots snare the
readers attention and result in many readers
finishing the book in a day or two.
PageOneLit.com: If
Hollywood called and said they wanted to
make 'PROMISED LAND' into a feature film and
asked you to cast the characters/actors -
Who would you choose and why?
Emerson - Matthew
McConahey
- he has a
vulnerability
Melaudra
- Halle
Berry - she has the sexiness and
toughness
Elms - John Goodman
- it was written with him in mind.
He is reading the book now.
Thibadaux-
not sure who would play this villain
PageOneLit.com:
What did you learn from writing 'PROMISED LAND'
?
Bob Adamov: I learned quite a
bit about the French Quarter and the
heroes from
Hurricane Katrina.
The Metropolitan Crime Commission provided me with
quite a bit of insight regarding police
corruption in New Orleans. New Orleans is one of
my favorite places to visit.
PageOneLit.com:
What's next?
Bob Adamov:
The Other Side of Hell which is
set in the
Cayman Islands.
PageOneLit.com:
What was the last book you read?
Bob Adamov:
The History of the
Cayman
Islands.
PageOneLit.com:
Do you have any hobbies? What are they? How
do they enhance your writing?
Bob Adamov:
Traveling and interviewing.
Street rodding
in my bright yellow 1939 Packard coupe. I
also study other writer's styles.
