Greg Espinosa

Greg Espinosa is a thinking man who is living his life guided by God's love.  He is not a Theologian or Philosopher by trade and  regular every-day people can relate to his straightforward quest, described in his book. Without a doubt, this IS the book that organized religion will not want its followers to read.

What the Church Does Not Want You to Know warns us of the greed of today's church and the falsehood of 'salvation-for-pay.' This is the book that organized religion will NOT want its followers to read!

What the Church What Does Not Want You to Know is fearless, as it rips the veil and exposes the controversial, but critically needed, truth.

This book is dedicated to those who seek a fulfilling spiritual life outside the bondage of institutionalized religion.  It is my hope that the simplicity of this book will help all to have a better understanding of religions and what they have created.

Most importantly, I desire that you find the freedom to enrich your spiritual experience.

PageOneLit.com:  Where did you grow up and was reading and writing a part of your life? Who were your earliest influences and why?

Greg Espinosa: I grew up in Colton California, where education was not on the top of my list; school was mostly about survival where I attended. I have always been more of an inventor and was always involved with creating something unique.

I have to thank my father for that; he truly was the ultimate inspiration in my life, due to him daily instilling in me common sense. My father is a hard worker and is self taught, he truly is a blessing in my life.

PageOneLit.com: Discuss writing What the Church Does Not Want You to Know and do you feel What the Church Does Not Want You to Know will be controversial?

Greg Espinosa: While I was working in the salon that we owned. My customers would often see me writing while studying the Bible. They began asking me what I was writing. When I would briefly explain about our experiences, nearly every person explained that he or she had had the same bad experiences in their own churches.

Initially, all my studying and writing was for my own peace of mind and to confirm that spirituality is not about following a person who claims to be called from God to lead others. So why was I inspired to write this book? I heard how so many others are going through the same hardships as my wife and I, and I heard so many people wonder whether they could love God on their own, without going through a church, and whether God would love them back. I had compassion for all these people whose stories I heard, so I wrote this book for them.

Now regarding why I feel this book will be controversial. God says that knowing Him is a free gift and that the Word of God is now sown in our hearts. So why do all these different religions say they need your money to share the Word of God? They say it because of their love for money. And that I believe will be one of the largest controversial issues, because you are interfering with their finances.

PageOneLit.com: In What the Church Does Not Want You to Know you discuss how you found yourself hurting financially because of donations to your church - Explain.

Greg Espinosa: My wife and I attended church after church for about 5 years. In each church, we were told so many different ways that we should be living. By making us feel guilty, church leaders got us to contribute to building funds and make financial gifts. Eventually, our savings were wiped out. By the time I finally realized that It was no longer necessary to pay for the free gift of God, we were deeply in debt.

PageOneLit.com: What do you hope to achieve with What the Church Does Not Want You to Know?

Greg Espinosa: It is my hope that the simplicity of this book will help all to have a better understanding of religions and what they have created, and you will have the strength to live a life in freedom, outside the bondage of institutionalized religion.

PageOneLit.com: What are the six themes What the Church Does Not Want You to Know is based?

Greg Espinosa: This book is based on 6 themes:

1. Freedom from any man's or women's rules and regulations allows you to receive Gods blessings through faith;

2. Removing the burden of guilt and fear that churches create to maintain their authority and which prevents you from developing a relationship with God;

3. Christ is the only mediator between man and God;

4. A true, personal relationship with God is only possible through belief in God;

5. The blessings of God cannot be purchased by your labor or your money; and

6. God loves you and wants to bless you, but you must seek Him from your heart.

PageOneLit.com: Why did you write What the Church Does Not Want You to Know?

Greg Espinosa: By writing this book, I have learned that no matter what level of education you are that it takes determination and perseverance to follow through with the passion that is in your heart to help others make a change in their life for the better.

PageOneLit.com: In What the Church Does Not Want You to Know you discuss 'churches' and the difference between a relationship with 'GOD' and a 'church/building' - Explain.

Greg Espinosa: People take pride in the physical representation of the church buildings. People equate demonstrating their love of God by the appearance of their churches, thinking that the quality of the church building reflects the degree to which the members love God. They believe a fancier church means that God is more present there. Buildings are made by people, by human hands. To praise and equate a building to holiness is, in the truest sense of the word, idolatry. Money spent on buildings is not the same as worshipping God or performing godly service.

PageOneLit.com: What makes What the Church Does Not Want You to Know different from other books in the religious genre?

Greg Espinosa: I believe, all people know that God, or a higher power, exists. As the Word of God says, “All of man is without excuse that there is a God.” I think that this book will help people achieve several benefits in their personal relationship with God:

The peace and sanity that knowing God directly can bring to ones soul;
The joy from releasing the burden of guilt so that a person can have a personal relationship with our Heavenly Father—without belonging to a religious organization;
An overall serenity for those who have never belonged to any organized religious institution and have been persecuted by those who believe they should; and
A sense of relief and freedom from knowing that the power is within us to know and follow God.

PageOneLit.com: Do you currently attend a church?

Greg Espinosa: I do not attend church, and I believe that God does not dwell in buildings made by human hands. We are the church, if you believe in what Jesus did for us when he was crucified on the cross. He says that he now dwells in us, and we can go directly to God through him. That is how I continue my spiritual relationship; it is a personal relationship that I walk daily, and I just love Him like a child loves their father. It’s that simple.

PageOneLit.com: What was the last book you read?

Greg Espinosa: The last book that I read was, Rich Dad Poor Dad, by Robert Kiyosaki.

PageOneLit.com:  Do you have any hobbies?

Greg Espinosa: I enjoy always challenging my mind and being creative in all of my business adventures.
