PageOneLit.com: Where did you grow up and who were
your earliest literary influences?
Shauna Bettencourt: I grew up in the small city of
Winnipeg, Canada, my writing began at the age of ten in school it
was mostly short stories poetry in which led me to achieve a lot of
awards,
later in my years songwriting became of interest as well as now
writing part to movie scripts.
When I look back at my earlier influences a few people come to my
mind for songwriting I have a lot of respect for the sensational
singer and friend Olivia, who is responsible for many hits
including "best friends" and many more, As for authors I appreciate Deepak Chopra, Joyce Meyer, even a good
Dr Phil book every now and then.
PageOnelit.com: Discuss your new book Making it Mainstream the true story of LDV.
Shauna Bettencourt: Making it Mainstream the true story of LDV is about the triumphs
and tribulations that one girl faces throughout her childhood into
adulthood. S
She was born in Paris France to an Indonesian mother and French
father ,being an only child life was difficult for her although her
parents had prestigious jobs and she was able to experience some of
their luxury and comfortable lifestyle it did not last for too long,
she became lonely having to deal with a lot of pressure and neglect
from her family including her own parents which had her bounced from
private school to working at such a young age,
she was kidnapped in Indonesia while their on a visit with her
mother in earlier years and was held for ransom to her difficult
teenage years which led her to almost being killed by an obsessive
stalker.
But the story does have some happier moments in which her constant
passion for music was embedded in her soul which kept her focused
and moving forward in life, determined she was not loose her self
respect despite the many things that happened to her she refused to
become someone else for everyone else.
The book also includes the special romance with an American
superstar to her much achievement in the model industry and then
their was the young prince of Dubai in which her heart was unable to
commit to and instead she chose to continue on her path for her
music.
Its definitely a unique story, worth getting the book for to read.

remarkable True Life Story as all of her Fans have always express an
interest in her path to fame ... Not many artists have such a
incident packed history !! MAKING IT MAINSTREAM (LDV's first book)
is about the many obstacles she has overcome during her inexorable
rise to the Top ...

mainstream behind the scenes with LDV, also everyone can look out
for her debut music video also there is so much to look forward in
seeing this singer on the rise.
PageOneLit.com: Where did you meet LDV?
Shauna Bettencourt:
LDV and I met about six years ago while I was visiting in London she was
also there to doing some of her modeling work.
It's a funny story actually we both were in a mall a very nice one
that had an ice cream parlor we were just waiting in line and began
speaking to one another from that point on numbers were exchanged
and address shared a few good laughs and a common interest for ice
cream you could say,
our friendship grew even stronger over the years as she also would
fly back and fourth from us to Paris.
We are very close like sisters and I think what I respect about her
the most is that she has a good heart and we share the same moral
values.
Where do you see LDV , the artist, in 5 years or
less?
Shauna Bettencourt: I really see LDV doing a lot in five years by then she would be on
her third album or so touring across the world doing shows and even
i can put out there everyone will definatly be seeing her more on TV
as well.
There's a lot she's working hard for and give it that she still
manages to stay humble through this journey there will be much more
to come. Maybe even another book?
PageOneLit.com: What did you learn from writing
MAKING IT MAINSTREAM -
THE TRUE STORY OF LDV ?
Shauna Bettencourt: I learned so much first it was the obvious which was to not just
count my blessings but share them, it's true that in this world I
feel many people including times even with myself we over look at
how much we really have and how grateful we should be for all of it,
we don't know what will be of tomorrow but we do know what we can
make of today, Her story is one that I felt needed to be shared and
read especially for the many who have that dream in making it
mainstream and seeing that their is another path it may be a lot
longer and even more harder but the moral to the book was that she
did not sacrifice her self respect and choose the path that was not
handed down to her as we all know there's so many who only see the
big picture and want it so bad their willing to do anything for it,
not LDV she prefers to earn her way to the top and maintain the
respect of all her fans and appreciation to those who do acknowledge
she has what it takes on top of being that role model for many.
PageOneLit.com: What did you want to achieve with
MAKING IT MAINSTREAM -
THE TRUE STORY OF LDV ?
Shauna Bettencourt: I have to say that some of the great things I wanted to achieve
with this book as already began, first is having the privilege in
doing this interview with you,
second is the support from not only her fans but also my family and
friends,
we have so good news coming soon regarding the movie of this book
and we look forward to that as well as doing more interviews, a
planed book tour, and just overall continue to work hard behind it.
The most I appreciate and feel the strongest about is recognizing
that we did this book independent and more and more people
especially readers are realizing their is such strong substance we
cannot control all of the media or the way book stores react but we
do know that we believe that we wrote the book the right way and
will support that strongly.
PageOneLit.com: What's Next?
Shauna Bettencourt:
Wow, there is so much that is to come next especially for this year
of 2009 their is a few movie projects I am touching but as for books
I have already been asked by notable people in the entertainment
field if I was willing to write for them and I actually have
excepted a few things which will be announced later in the year on
top of still being creative and searching for my next topic, I did
do something really neat this week actually I finished a children's
book for my son who is five and it is the first book I have written
for children so that was exciting I feel good about that project as
well.
PageOnelit.com: What was the last book you read?
Shauna Bettencourt: The last book I read aside from this one since their is nothing
like writing a book then reading it right after was the Obama book
in which was very interesting to learn about his life and his
struggles it was fantastic, I'm so happy for the US I pray that the
change will be good for all the people coming from someone who
resides in Canada it was much needed, after all history was made as
I hope it will continue.
PageOneLit.com: Any hobbies?
Shauna Bettencourt: I do have many hobbies I love doing a variety of things like
multi-talkie very much into real estate, home decorating and
renovating, working on music projects with both well know top
celebrities and also up and coming new artists both US and CANADA
even some times internationally, I think yes some of my hobbies do
enhance my ability to want to write like with another book I have
that will be released at the end of 2009 entitled My Preclampsia
Experience detailing my own ordeal with the condition when I was
pregnant with my son it is something I have always wanted to write
about in hopes of getting the public more aware of the condition
that is responsible for more then over 76 000 deaths with women and
their unborn child ,I feel it is a blessing my son and I survived
and are doing more then well. One thing I love the most is the family time, I very much value my
family time especially with my son Sejay.
