PageOneLit.com: Where did you grow up and was reading and writing a part of your life? Who were your earliest influences and why?

TLO Red'Ness: I was born and raised in the Bronx of New York City's five Boroughs, reading and writing was a huge part of my life it was an escape from the norm and allowed me to use my creativity to live what ever dream I chose. My earliest books were Sherlock Holmes, Edgar Allen Poe, Nancy Drew Mysteries and the Hardy boys mysteries and my favorite writer who appealed to my own heart was Maya Angelou.

PageOneLit.com: Why do you write?

TLO Red'Ness: I write to explore my creative expression, I love to watch how characters and circumstance unfold from beginning to end. It allows me to vent my own reality into a form of entertainment and it allows me to keep a smile on my face without the feeling of regret or suppressed aggression.

PageOneLit.com You are multitalented - Your Bio reads that you are a 'noncommissioned officer in charge (NCOIC) of Area III South Korea as a combat photographer specialist, servicing video projects for three air force bases and three army posts. Redness CO-wrote the three-times platinum song "Informer" by Snow, and has subcontracted on many large assignments with major film companies.' If you can would you elaborate a little on each area of your career listed and how they have helped you be a better fiction author?

TLO Red'Ness: Life is one big stepping stone, you learn and gain knowledge from all of the good the bad as well as work experiences. What is important to me is that no matter what I do in life that it be a step closer to my overall goal. My love for film and working with the Film Commission of Orlando Florida which allowed my company to be subcontracted as freelance camera operators and PA assistance to many different major film companies. One of my employees were subcontracted to work on House on Haunted Hill, who also worked on freelance videography for Universal Film Crew in Florida for Entertainment Tonight and Access Hollywood. The "Mud Fish" Music Video and a Spec write up for a proposed movie for Carlos a friend of Howie from the Backstreet Boys. Those Film/Video Experiences allowed me to utilize my love for writing and focusing on projecting what is written into a visual process during and after attending college and obtaining a Film/Video Degree from FMU in Florida. The experience many years ago, such as, working and writing for Snow was rewarding it taught me how to network and creatively write a path to success for the music I wrote and mark the outline of a path for the artists career. I also assisted with writing some of the song "A Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Waste" which went Gold on the Soundtrack of "Colors" the movie. I wrote some of the songs for album "Play It Again Shan" Which sold several hundred thousand copies as well as the album "Penile Reunion" By MC Shan. The experiences that I had in the music industry allowed me an inside look into to the music industry and how many of the associated genres in the areas of entertainment operate. I was able to meet so many people of all walks of life, it helped me outline many different character profiles that can be interchanged and mixed up in variety to assist my imagination to achieve a diverse visual creativity for fiction writing. Joining the military and working in the Audio Visual Area allows me to utilize my creative and administrative skills. I create works that depict the military in it's truest form. It's about people and families that sacrifice for a common good. There are so many ceremonies and that take place on a daily basis as well as training in the military. I am privileged to get the opportunity through shooting and editing video projects to write a story that goes out before all Soldiers and their families that assist in saying good bye to fallen Soldiers going out to the Soldiers families or simply welcoming in coming command groups. Learning so many different facets of life from being homeless as a child living on the streets of New York, to educating my self and becoming a Financial Analyst to pursuing my Videography and writing dreams, after marrying in to the Rap Game at a very early age of 17years old and divorced time after time to being duped by persuasive men from Lazy Bum on a couch potato, to a Pastor of a church who raped me who convinced me that it was God's and my will for us to be together, to being versed in the military and being considered an overachiever and receiving an awesome position as NCOIC of all of Area III Visual Information Support Center (VISC) where I have received many awards and commendation letters from Generals and Colonels for my work and expertise, to writing this book.

PageOneLit.com:In " Bad Apples Can Be Good Fruit", you ask the question: Are You Holding Back Vital Information From Your Past While In A Meaningful Relationship? Why is revealing Untold Secrets an Essential Part of Pre-Marriage?

TLO Red'Ness: It is primarily important to reveal all secrets in a relationship due to the baggage of withholding information from your loved one, that stress can cause you to lash out or become paranoid. People have to worry about someone coming along and exposing your secrets for you or just the stress of dealing with past issues alone is a stress. When you learn about a persons trials after marriage it doesn't give you the fair advantage of choosing not to marry that person and deciding that this is truly not the type of person that you want in your life which ultimately leads to divorce.

PageOneLit.com: " Bad Apples Can Be Good Fruit", is about a woman's struggle to let go and moving on -- What are some of the keys to 'closure" and moving on?

TLO Red'Ness: I believe the acceptance factor would be a key to closure; the knowing that you have been fair and disclosed all elements to your self and the person either saying you are still desired or you are not. it saves long term trivial mishaps and at the same time allowed you to vent and get that secret off your chest no matter what the outcome. you can not change who you are and what your experiences have been along your journey to becoming you.

PageOneLit.com: " Bad Apples Can Be Good Fruit" is a great title -- where, who how did this title come to be for your book?

TLO Red'Ness: The title came from my Grandmother who believed the best could be found in anyone, she would watch the 11 o'clock news and see some psychotic who just hacked up a whole slew of people and say that poor man now he's going to have to live the rest of his life with what he's done. She would add "He must have been abused as a child. I used an actual moment from when I was young in the book as to how she used the Title of the Book "Bad Apples can Be Good Fruit." it stuck with me all of my life. As you know I'm a native New Yorker from the Big Apple and although once lived a bad life I turned out to be a pretty good fruit. LOL!

PageOneLit.com: " Bad Apples Can Be Good Fruit" is nonfiction, but incorporates events of your own life -- Was there ever any intentions to write this book as straight 'self-help' nonfiction? Why fiction?

TLO Red'Ness: At first my earliest edition was a self help, but I couldn't have fun with it I would have had to stick with the facts and couldn't get creative (The whole reason for writing) so I changed it to a novel about a man and a woman coming to grips with the truth, it began to bore me because I think I have had some pretty horrendous episodes which make up a lot of the essence of the truth telling phase something I always do In relationships so I went with a healthy mix. I still get to expose me a little and at the same to be creative.

PageOneLit.com: Why should someone buy a copy of " Bad Apples Can Be Good Fruit" ?

TLO Red'Ness: This book offers a lot of fact finding for the readers self conscious, it gives the reader courage to be themselves without limitations just by watching someone else do it. At the same time there is enough twisting and drama to keep the reader at the edge of their seat wanting to know the outcome. It is a sort of mystery, love Story, and tragic episode it offers all areas of reading quality.

PageOneLit.com: What did you learn from writing " Bad Apples Can Be Good Fruit" ?

TLO Red'Ness: I learned the art of moving through different locations and areas of all the characters lives and keeping a consistent story. The story unfolds in several different areas and with different characters and is almost like three stories in one.

PageOneLit.com: What's next?

TLO Red'Ness: What's Next is "Cheryl's Web" it is the squeal to "Bad Apples Can Be Good Fruit" There is so much more action twists and turning events in the plot of the squeal you will have to read the first book to understand some of the plot. There are little keys and open clues left in the original book I guess this will be another case of book two is better than the first...

PageOneLit.com: What was the last book you read?

TLO Red'Ness: I actually read two books at once simultaneously. The Law of Attraction by Michael J. Losier and the Secret by Rhonda Byrnes, both awesome books, I made them my new daily inspiration reading.

PageOneLit.com: Do you have any hobbies? What are they?

TLO Red'Ness: My hobbies are Writing, Videography, Riding My Bike, Dancing and any thing that allows me to utilize my creative side.
